ZCISD Celebrates the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Life Skills Center!!🎉

At ZCISD, we believe in Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders! We believe in practical education. Students at the Life Skills Center have the chance to apply the knowledge gained in their vocational classrooms. The Center provides training for students in the areas of Hotel & Hospitality, Restaurant, Office & Business, Retail Merchandising, and Horticulture.
The center collaborates with job partners who offer real-world settings for students to hone their job skills. These students are supported by job coaches who provide guidance and assistance with their assigned tasks.
A big shoutout to our dedicated team and everyone who contributed to making this event unforgettable. We couldn't have done it without you!

Today kicks off National School Lunch Week! Join us all week as students “Level Up with School Lunch”! #TXNSLW #NSLW23

This week, schools across the country will celebrate the benefits of healthy school meals during National School Lunch Week (NSLW), October 9-13, 2023. Through fun lunchtime events, special menus, cafeteria decorations, take-home activities and playful video game-inspired theme, NSLW will educate students and families about how to "Level Up with School Lunch".
At ZCISD we will be celebrating this week in many different ways across campuses. Menu for the week will include Pulled Pork BBQ Burgers and Mexican Hot Dogs. The ZCISD Child Nutrition Department will also hold a taste testing event on Thursday October 12, at Zapata High School, where new menu items will be featured for possible menu changes in the spring.

18 Day Challenge Attendance WINNERS!

We are so proud of the hard work our schools did during September's 18 Day Challenge. Throughout this challenge several of our elementary grade levels reached 99% attendance days and two secondary grade levels reached 97% attendance! This challenge was to raise awareness on the importance of daily attendance.

It is not an 'end of year' number or 'end of six weeks' number to look at; it is an 'every day - every student' number that makes a real impact on student success. Congratulations to all students across the District! Special thanks to all 5th, 6th, 7th and 10th graders for raising to the top of their schools!

Get ready because Hawk Fest and Parade are back! We are thrilled to announce that this year's festivities will kick off the much-anticipated Homecoming 2023 celebration. It's going to be a day of fun, community, and unforgettable memories.

Are you part of a student organization, community group, or local business that wants to participate in the homecoming parade? We welcome your involvement! Show your creativity and spirit by designing a float, marching, or simply joining the parade.

Registration Form Due By: October 13, 2023

To register your group or organization for the parade, please fill out the registration form available on the ZHS website or the attached QR code. Don't miss the chance to be a part of this exciting event!

Hawk Fest and Parade are just the beginning of our Homecoming 2023 celebration. Stay tuned for more announcements about the week-long festivities, including the crowning of our Homecoming King and Queen.
